Questions families ask

FAQs

What's the difference between the homes?

Genesis is modern and purpose-built, with 42 en-suite rooms, a lift and a bistro. Ashfields is a characterful period house with a homely, close-knit feel. Same family, same manager, same standards: two different styles of home.

Can we see both in one visit?

Yes. The homes are a few minutes' drive apart, so we can show you both on the same day. Choose "Both homes" when you book.

Do you offer nursing care?

No. Both homes provide residential care for people over 65 who need help with daily life, personal care and medication. We are not nursing homes or a home-care service.

How soon is a room available?

It changes week to week. Call Tracy or send an enquiry and she'll tell you what's free at each home now.

Can my parent move between homes?

Ask Tracy. Because both homes are run by the same family and manager, we can talk through a move if needs change.

What's included in the fee?

Your room, all meals and drinks, laundry, personal care, activities and 24-hour support. Our fee guides set out exactly what's included at each home.

Do you take local authority funding?

We welcome both self-funding residents and those funded by the local authority. We'll explain how it works.

Can you take someone straight from hospital?

Yes. We regularly welcome people discharged from hospital, as long as they don't need nursing care — both homes are residential care homes. Call Tracy and we'll move quickly; emergency stays are sometimes available.
